About the Event

Our Wine & Wisdom series is back and it's starting out with a real life hero.

Born in Germany to a military family, Col. S. E. Scully has called El Paso since the 1970s. After graduating from medical school, she joined the military and completed two combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. On her second tour of duty in the Middle East she ran an ambulance in support of both American Soldiers and Iraqi civilians in the Province of Ramadi. There she earned the Combat Medic Badge for supporting the wounded while under fire.

In 2010, she was stationed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) to serve as the Chief of Neurology and has subsequently been selected to serve as the Deputy Commander of Medical Services (DCMS). Today, on the eve of her retirement from military service, she plans to remain in El Paso and support the local community by serving as a neurologist – a specialty that is critically underserved in this region.
